THE CUSTOMER
Darul-Uloom Canada is a charitable Islamic institution committed to nurturing youth through sacred knowledge and spiritual development. Located in the heart of the community, the organization offers a range of full-time programs including Hifz, a six-year Alim course, a two-year Ifta program, a full-time Academic Program for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, and a Primary Education stream.

Since its inception, Darul-Uloom has grown into a trusted center for Islamic learning and community connection, offering five daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Taraweeh, Eid services, and monthly gatherings. With a growing student body and expanding services, the organization began seeking better ways to manage its academic and administrative operations, paving the way for a solution like Ad-Din.
Darul-Uloom Canada operates as both an Islamic school and a community-centered masjid, offering a wide range of programs including Hifz, Alimiyyah, daily prayers, community events, and religious services. As the organization grew, managing these diverse operations became increasingly difficult due to fragmented systems and heavy reliance on manual processes.

In the school, teachers relied on paper-based methods to manage lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with parents—processes that were especially challenging for the full-time Academic Program for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students. This program, which integrates Ontario curriculum subjects like Math, Science, and English alongside Islamic Studies, required careful coordination to balance both academic and religious learning goals. Without a digital system, maintaining comprehensive records, monitoring individual progress, and providing timely, consistent updates to parents was difficult and prone to errors, causing delays and gaps in communication.

On the masjid side, organizing prayer schedules, khutbahs, volunteer coordination, and events like Ramadan programs or weekly halaqahs was challenging without a unified system. Many tasks were managed informally or through spreadsheets, making it hard to keep information accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to the team.

Public communication also posed a challenge. The organization lacked a modern, centralized website where announcements, program details, and donation links could be shared effectively. Prayer times were managed manually or using outdated third-party tools that were difficult to maintain and often inaccurate.

With no mobile-friendly platform and each department working in silos, Darul-Uloom Canada faced duplicated efforts, missed updates, and a disjointed experience for students, parents, staff, and community members. It became clear that a comprehensive and integrated solution was needed to unify school, masjid, and public-facing operations under one system.
THE CHALLANGE
THE SOLUTION
Ad-Din provided Darul-Uloom Canada with a complete digital system that brought everything together. School records, community programs, communication, and daily operations are now managed through one connected platform. Teachers no longer need to rely on paper agendas or manual reports—they can easily monitor student progress and classroom activities through the app, with all information saved securely and accessible in real time.

For the full-time Academic Program (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8), Ad-Din streamlined lesson planning, progress tracking, and parent communication. Teachers can now organize Ontario curriculum subjects alongside Islamic Studies efficiently, track individual student performance, and share updates directly with parents through automated notifications. This has improved transparency and allowed for more personalized academic support, ensuring that both secular and religious educational goals are met.

Parents stay informed without waiting for paper slips or phone calls. With automatic notifications and mobile access, they receive timely updates on their child’s learning milestones and important announcements. This has improved communication and strengthened the relationship between the school and families.

The wider organization also benefits. Staff can organize events, coordinate volunteers, and manage registrations much more efficiently. Program details, announcements, and donation options are posted and updated online without needing outside help. Even routine tasks, like keeping the masjid’s prayer times accurate and visible, are now handled automatically.

Ad-Din has helped Darul-Uloom Canada save time, reduce errors, and improve how they serve their students and the broader community. Everything runs more smoothly now that it is managed in one place, allowing the team to focus more on their mission and less on administrative tasks.
One of the biggest wins for the organization has been the significant time saved across daily operations. With such a large number of students, managing attendance, progress, and communications manually was overwhelming and prone to delays. Since implementing the solution, tasks that once took hours are now completed in minutes, freeing up staff to focus more on teaching and student engagement.

Communication between teachers, parents, and administration has also improved dramatically. Automated notifications keep parents instantly informed about their child’s progress and attendance, closing previous gaps and reducing the need for follow-up calls or emails. This seamless flow of information has brought greater transparency and peace of mind to families, while simplifying workload for the staff.

Overall, the organization has moved from a scattered, manual system to a streamlined, data-driven process that supports its large community efficiently and reliably.

The entire mobile ecosystem is evolving rapidly, users have powerful devices in their hands. Our focus with Ad-Din project is on how these powerful devices can be utilized for the sake of our dīn, and how those interactions would differ from traditional legacy isolated solutions/model vs a unified converged solution.
Success with Full Time Hifz Program

Islamic Foundation of Toronto (IFT)

IFT was proposed a solution that would give them a total control on their Madrasah especially Full Time Hifz Program, which would generate and nurture the progression of students in a much more strategic and structured way. The most important criteria for IFT was automation and reporting.
